Hello fellow culinarians!A while ago some Chinese friends and I realised that when it comes to food and cooking we had a lot in common, despite coming from opposite ends of the world. This came to us while we were sharing a meal of Chinese chicken noodle soup made with Italian angel hair pasta. My friends and I have shared recipes many times, and gained insights into how food culture lies at the heart of society, shaping every aspect of it, from the economy to human relationships. A home just isn’t a home without a kitchen!I can proudly state that my kitchen is the centre of my home, and feels like it. My friends all like to hang out there rather than in my more spacious living room, and over many conversations I’ve come to realise that kitchens are more just spaces where food is prepared. They’re also forums where economy and tradition intertwine. Antonella's KitchenWhat it will be about... I want to use this blog to explore how food can shape society. I want to find out more about what we eat, and why we eat it. I want to understand how trends and fashions in food defined different periods in time, and yes – there Will be recipes, too! I’m an historian with an interest in marketing and advertising, so I like to get my facts straight before committing them to print. I’m afraid this means I won’t be able to update this blog every day, but I’ll try to post something new at least once a week.
Please leave comments if you wish. If you’ve enjoyed one of the articles, please share it with your friends. Sharing is caring! Thanks for visiting! Antonella. Comments are closed.
